Toyoake City is
located in the middle of Aichi Prefecture, and is
a neighbor of Nagoya City. Its close proximity to Nagoya
has made Toyoake popular as a residential town. Our city
has two faces; one is growth and progress, and the other
history and tradition. Toyoake has many famous historical
sites, such as the ancient battlefield of Okehazama
Kosenjyo. The Okehazama
Battle was a turning point in Japanese history. In this
battle, Oda Nobunaga, one of the feudal
lords, defeated his rival Imagawa Yoshimoto. After
this victory, Nobunaga was firmly established in
his bid to unify Japan.
